Renewal streamlines path to NRTL certification for manufacturers, cutting
duplicate testing time and cost
BENSENVILLE, IL, UNITED STATES, August 10, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Product Safety Consulting (PSC) announced today that it has renewed its accreditation in the SGS Data Acceptance Program (DAP), marking the company’s first renewal since joining the program one year ago.
The SGS DAP accreditation allows SGS, a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL), to accept test data generated by PSC directly, without requiring duplicate testing. For manufacturers pursuing NRTL certification in the U.S., this means a faster path to market and lower overall testing costs.
“Renewing this accreditation was a significant investment for us, both financially and in terms of staff resources,” said John Allen, owner of Product Safety Consulting. “But it directly benefits our clients. If your product needs NRTL certification, this accreditation means SGS can move forward with our data instead of starting from scratch.”
The SGS DAP accreditation works alongside PSC’s existing ANAB/ILAC accreditation, though the two serve different functions. ANAB/ILAC accreditation allows international certification bodies to accept PSC’s test data. SGS DAP accreditation specifically allows SGS to accept that data for NRTL certification purposes in the United States.
The renewal reflects PSC’s broader commitment to helping manufacturers get to market as quickly as possible. “This renewal solidifies our commitment to helping our customers get to market as soon as possible,” Allen said. “Manufacturers working with us can save real time and real money on certification, and we want more of our clients to know that’s available to them.”
For manufacturers evaluating NRTL certification pathways, PSC’s SGS DAP accreditation offers a way to reduce redundant testing, shorten certification timelines, and lower overall compliance costs.
