THE ULTIMATE JAPANESE DENIM JACKET LAUNCHED BY SUNG KANG, XBOX AND ZIPANGU FOR THE LAUNCH OF FORZA HORIZON 6

The collection features two exclusive jacket styles constructed from upcycled Japanese selvedge denim, and incorporates custom laser-etched design elements including cherry blossoms, Mount Fuji, Japanese sports cars and Forza Horizon 6 and Zipangu branding. Designed with a focus on detail, materiality and cultural reference, the pieces draw inspiration from sashiko, the centuries-old Japanese stitching technique that evolved from necessity into artistry, and reflect a philosophy of repair, longevity and design with purpose.

The Zipangu x Forza Horizon 6 Edition jacket is designed with the road in mind, with 3M reflective silver taping running along the seams, subtle in daylight and highly visible under flash or headlights. The interior features a fully sublimated Forza Horizon 6 lining and a spec-designed controller pocket sized for Xbox and PlayStation controllers, along with a detachable, full-color FH6 keychain zipper pull designed as a collectible detail.

The Sung Kang x Forza Horizon 6 jacket – of which only six exist – builds on this foundation with an elevated level of handcraft and detailing. The design features a soft periwinkle colorway inspired by Tokyo’s evening sky, with hand-sewn 3D cherry blossom denim appliqués and sashiko-style patches laser-etched with game iconography, including Japanese drift references and Forza Horizon 6 and Zipangu logos. Each piece is unique.

The interior of the Sung Kang x Forza Horizon 6 jacket includes a mechanic pocket built into cotton canvas lining. Inside features a controller pocket, a custom tool pocket (aka snack pocket), and a discreet compartment housing the jacket’s defining feature — battery-powered, hand-washable, rechargeable, bendable LED tape threaded along the seams. Powered by a single switch, the jacket lights up in eight modes, echoing the neon rush of a Tokyo night.

As part of the partnership, brokered by AEG Global Partnerships, fans will have an opportunity own a piece of the exclusive collection. Starting on May 12 at 12pm ET / 9am PT, fans can enter online through Xbox’s Instagram account for their chance to win one of the jackets. Fans attending Zipangu will also have a chance to win jackets on-site.

Launching in conjunction with the inaugural Zipangu event on May 16 at Brookside at the Rose Bowl – the largest Japanese music event on U.S. soil devoted to Japanese music and culture – the collection brings the world of Forza Horizon 6 beyond the screen through Japanese heritage, street racing culture and contemporary craftsmanship.

Created in collaboration with Sung Kang and in celebration of his upcoming film Drifter, the designs reflect a personal intersection of car culture and Japanese influence central to both the game and the project.

The inaugural event brings together some of Japan’s most celebrated artists on an American stage, including Ado, Yuki Chiba, ATARASHII GAKKO!, MAN WITH A MISSION, CHANMINA, 10-FEET, and HANA.
